Intel introduces four new Xeon Processors
>> Saturday, 25 June 2011
Pending the arrival of its next micro-architecture, which give rise to launch processors "Core i7," Intel completes its range of chips for servers and workstations high performance with four new Xeon processors. Three of them are quad-core (they therefore have four hearts execution). All belong to the family "Penryn", are produced through a process of burning to a fine of 45 nanometer (nm).
On the quad-core, Intel introduces the L5430, X5470 and X5492, posting respective frequencies of 2.66, 3.33 and 3.4 GHz. The first two take a bus (FSB) 1333 MHz, while the latter displays a FSB of 1600 MHz. Finally, the thermal envelope, or TDP, these three processors, stood at 50W, 120W and 150W. Just then a dual-core processor, the Xeon X5270, clocked at 3.5 GHz and with a TDP of 80W for a FSB of 1333 MHz. The prices of these four chips range from 562 to 1493 dollars (unit price for the purchase of one thousand pieces).
