Google Gmail updates for Internet

>> Saturday, 25 June 2011

Although the browser wars bat was in full concurrent with the release of Chrome, Internet Explorer 8 beta 2 and the first alpha of Firefox 3.1, a significant portion of Internet surfing on Windows XP has never taken the trouble to save a day or install a browser other than that historically incorporated into the OS: Internet Explorer 6. Google has just proceed to update its messaging Gmail, so that the followers of IE6 not be tempted to divert them, in the absence of full compatibility.

"The current version of Gmail grows recent browsers in their last entrenchments, and origin, we could not make it accessible to those of you who are using IE6," explains on his blog the team Gmail. It claims to have, in recent months, worked to develop a patch to improve the execution of JavaScript in IE6 so that the browser can properly manage the features of Gmail. "We also somewhat simplified the user interface when the browser is IE6 so as to improve stability", adding engineers in charge of Gmail.

Following the amendments, Internet users who surf with IE6 should now be able to take advantage of the functions of coloration, emoticones, invisible mode, contact manager and complete the integration of AIM. They also - at least when using IE6 is not imposed by any company policy, the possibility to migrate to a newer browser, but that is another story.
