Screen does not fit to Fullscreen in VMware Player
Hello everyone I am using VMware player version 3.1 and I have windows vista Home Premium 32-bit as host and Windows Me operating system as guest. I have installed the all tools came with VMware version and while doing this I have got the message to install the SVGA video drivers and I have installed this drivers manually. Now I am facing the issue with the Guest operating system. When I open the VMware Player on full screen it doesn't resize to fit the full screen and I am getting the a small black edge on middle of the screen with the rest being black. I have tried the some of solution to solve this issue but nothing helped me to solve mien issue. Can anyone suggest on this issue and so that I can solve mine issue.

I have got this same issue and I have gone through the below steps to solve this issue, to solve this issue you need to put the below code on the vmx file:
Code:

pref.autoFitFullScreen = "fitHostToGuest"

Once you have edit the code then restart the VMware player and after that let me know the issue.

Hello thanks for the replies and I have gone through your steps and this doesn’t help me to solve mine issue. So anyone know how to make the guest OS stretch to fill the whole screen on the player. Can anyone suggest and so that I can solve mine issue.

I think you have edit this file on the guest operating system file and so therefore you’re not able to solve this issue. So go through the below location on the host operating system:

C:\Documents and Settings\your user id\Application Data\VMware.
Now here type the above code on the preferences.ini file. I hope this helps you to solve the issue.

Hello thanks for the replies and I have tried to your steps and this helped me to solve mine issue fullscreen issue but this doesn’t solved mine a little box in the middle of the screen. Now I am constantly getting the lines on full screen. I have tried to updated he driver again but after that also facing the same issue.

Even I have faced this issue and after that I have fund resolution causing this issue. So first of all make sure you both operating system have same resolution if your guest system have low resolution then you will face this issue. So keep the both system resolution same and then let me know the issue.
